A shared smile across a room, a conversation neither of us wants to end, a hand held during a favourite piece of music—these are pleasures I would love to share again.
I’m Richard, an English gentleman of 81, living near Truro in Cornwall. Affectionate by nature and curious about life, I’m hoping to meet a lady with whom friendship, attraction and laughter can grow into a loving, lasting relationship.
Classical music and opera are among my greatest pleasures, from Handel and Mozart to Verdi and Wagner. I can happily lose myself in a wonderful performance, although having someone beside me to exchange a glance with—and discuss it afterwards—would make it more special. I also enjoy ballet, photography, discovering new places and lingering over a good meal together.
My life has taken me through scientific research, teaching and consultancy, with years spent in America and the Philippines. There are plenty of stories to tell, but I would be equally delighted to hear yours. I’m drawn to a woman with a lively mind, warmth and a sense of humour, who enjoys her own interests and would welcome sharing some of mine.
I value honesty, kindness and tenderness. I’m agnostic, a non-smoker and only an occasional drinker. What I miss is the everyday intimacy of being a couple: exchanging thoughts, making plans, sharing an affectionate touch and knowing we are special to one another.
