So… the elephant in the room?
The wheelchair?
Well I do walk but I also use the wheelchair (I share the responsibility, fairly, so neither my wheels or legs can claim preferential treatment).
And now that’s out the way… who am I?
64 now, 65 next year. Have worked as an award-winning writer/journalist my whole life: not news, just travel, fashion, business, Cognac (solely, for 18 months), theatre, movies, literature (the whole A to Z of the Arts as well as staging an annual film festival in Oxford for 14 years).
Worked as the official blogger for the Oxford International Literary Festival for 13 years and, from the sublime to the - on paper at least - ridiculous, for two years was appointed Oxford’s official ‘Toilet Tsar’ (weird, yes, but true…).
Since my accident 11 years ago, I have also specialised in disability issues (including working two years for the German Tourist Board as their ‘Disability’ spokesperson).
As to the ‘elephant in the room’? Again…
How does it restrict me?
Simple. It doesn’t. I ALWAYS find a way💯👌LEGAL NOTE: this doesn’t cover seaside rock pools!
As for who I am…? Well , I like parties so long as they’re not mine (that way I can leave when I want to).
I don’t like ‘loud’ people but love people who are spirited and (I hope this isn’t out of fashion) nice!!!!!
Local would be great.

NB: And as to the very first question someone once greeted me with (forever forged in my brain) “Are you on a final salary pension scheme?
